Hi, I’m Ramon.

I’m a product builder, founder, and DJ based in Los Angeles. I like figuring things out, making things people can use, and getting good people in the same room.

I was born in the Philippines and moved to Southern California when I was nine. I remember slipping Tagalog into conversations with American classmates and feeling embarrassed to speak up.

Years later, I talked about that experience in an interview with AsAmNews. It shaped something I still care about: making room for people to be heard.

It started with a game server.

At 14, I was running a MapleStory private server called iPodStory. I made a forum, wrote instructions for joining, and used an auto restarter to keep the server up.

I recently found the old post. Teenage me was already writing onboarding docs and helping people get connected, even if I didn’t have the words for it yet.

Learning by doing.

My first professional chapter was county software. I built training materials at Riverside County, worked on San Diego County’s tax-system migration at HPE, then became a product manager at Aumentum. The work had real consequences for the people using it.

During my MBA at USC, I moved into creator products through Jemi and Rally. At Unblocked, I worked across product, engineering, design, and operations on creator platforms and music experiences, including Billboard Playback.

I learned to build along the way. Today I run Bassline Labs and stay involved from the first conversation through delivery. Websites, product work, creative systems, and the AI workflows around them.

Music made room for community.

Music has been a whole other chapter. I DJ as DJ Ramen and co-founded BTO Collective, a group built around musical growth and supporting each other.

Our charity livestreams raised $20K for Toys for Tots, Stop AAPI Hate, and hospital PPE. In 2020, BTO also helped put on Fresh Off the Vote, bringing Asian American artists together around participation and representation.

Still curious.

I’ve been the tech and gadgets person for as long as I can remember. With Ramennodes, I’m sharing the things I try and what I learn, from planning a trip with AI to making a complicated idea easier to understand.

The question I keep coming back to is pretty simple: what can this help someone do that they couldn’t do before? That’s what makes the work interesting to me.
